A Miraculous Comeback

Aloha Hilo! We have some truly wonderful news to share for 2025 that we know will bring a smile to many faces. Our very own Peter Honeyman, the heart and soul behind Real Flower Jewelry, has returned home to our beloved Hilo!

For those who have been following Peter’s journey, you know it’s been a long road. We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of support and well-wishes we’ve received over the past several months. Your kindness has been a constant source of strength.

A Look Back at the Journey:

Many of you will recall the devastating news we shared back on February 5th, 2024 about a fire that claimed our studio and left Peter recovering in a burn unit in Honolulu. The support we received during that incredibly challenging time was truly humbling.

Then, on April 20th, 2024, we were so relieved to announce Peter’s discharge from the ICU and his move to be with his daughter’s family near San Diego to continue his recovery. Your continued expressions of goodwill meant the world to Peter and all of us.

As recently as November 27th, 2024, we shared an update on Peter’s ongoing recovery, acknowledging the many messages of support and his steady progress, even amidst his own frustrations with the pace. The fact that his burns were healing well, with the hopeful prospect of minimal scarring, was a wonderful piece of news.

A Bright Future Blooms Again:

And now, we arrive at today’s joyous announcement! Peter is back in Hilo and brimming with dedication to rebuild his cherished business, Real Flower Jewelry. He’s already immersed in developing innovative preservation techniques and dreaming up fresh, inspiring designs. Look for him at his stall at the Hilo Farmer’s Market and at the Nani Mau Gardens.
